Cabo Riviera
the forgotten little brother of Cabo Cortes?
"LARGE motor yachts and speedboats can be serviced in the 285-slip full-service Marina. . Not far away lies Cabo Pulmo, a unique and well-protected living coral reef, prized by divers and snorkelers for its intriguing undersea life."
According to friendly site:
“In its Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), Cabo Cortés said that in the Gulf of California the ocean currents are exclusively from South to North. This is one of the document’s main assertions upon which they base their conclusion that the pollution to the ecosystem of Cabo Pulmo would be minimal. However, there is published scientific information and empirical evidence from local residents showing that the pattern of currents is in both directions, so that any effluent and extraction of soil on the coast will cause increased water turbidity and thus direct impact to the coral reef.”
So if there’s a major change on the coast: Will that affect Cabo Pulmo?
I guess that: Cabo Riviera’s “Large motor yachts and speedboats can be serviced in the 285-slip full-service Marina. . Not far away lies Cabo Pulmo, a unique and well-protected living coral reef, prized by divers and snorkelers for its intriguing undersea life” is presenting a major change. And it’s not in blue prints, they are doing it right now!
What are we missing?
Cabo Cortes has been in the news because of Cabo Pulmo, but what do we know about another big project, not far from Cabo Pulmo itself, that has enjoyed of what seems a quiet prosperity till now. Perhaps the attention on giant Cabo Cortes has made us all forget about the consequences of 900-acre developments?
900-acres are equal to 364.21 hectares
900-acres are equal to 3.642 Square km
Its big enough to consider its direct impact to the coral reef of Cabo Pulmo.
According to google maps “Cabo Riviera” its located at 16.7 miles (27 km) from Cabo Pulmo.
